Adapt & Thrive Mastermind, October 1st

Accountability among your business partners can sometimes be a paramount issueBrian Fife shared more on productivity this week, specifically accountability. Are you seeking productivity? Do all of those old metaphors like “wearing multiple hats” and “spinning plates” describe your life? We’re starting an accountability crew!

We’ve set a format for helping business owners maintain their goals. Here’s how:

  1. Weekly Goal Tracking: Simple email reminders to help stay on track.
  2. Access to Accountability Tools!
  3. Local Links Productivity Check-in: This 30 minute, 10-15 person, monthly Zoom meeting will be a strict, timed, intention-setting, goal-focused meeting. Here’s the structure:
    1. Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM PT
    2. Goal Updates: Each member gets 30 seconds to set their goal progress/status with the following:
      1. On Track: We’re making progress at our expected rate.
      2. At Risk: Dependent tasks have taken longer than expected.
      3. Successfully completed: Huzzah! We’ve accomplished this goal and are moving forward with the next!
      4. Pivot Required: Business is about Adapting. Pivots are required when goals are no longer attainable.
    3. Set your intention in 30 seconds/member
    4. Comment on a member’s goal with support, guidance, or constructive criticism in 30 seconds

Now, here are our Top Takeaways from the Mastermind:

  • Unattainable goals, while ambitious and lofty, quickly become discouraging and end up wasting time. Find a friend, partner, coworker–someone to talk to about your goals. Speaking your dreams out loud to get others’ feedback, and sometimes even their assistance, can help you hone in and focus on realistic objectives, to make measurable progress on your goals.
  • Routines have been trending for years for a reason! Find a morning routine that is doable, repeatable, and motivating. Whether it includes exercise, meditation, journaling, planning… practice positive habits to jumpstart your day.
  • If you can pay someone else to do a task or project you’re not as skilled in, go for it! This allows you to use your time more wisely and get a quality product that will ultimately result in growth for your business.
  • Don’t waste your time going to networking groups that don’t offer you any value. Set high expectations for the groups you’re joining, and be honest with yourself about whether or not each group is actually worth your time. Attend only the ones you truly believe are beneficial to you/your business.
