We were excited to welcome a guest speaker at this week’s mastermind! Blaine Oelkers, Chief Results Officer at Selfluence.com, shared some of his best practices for owners to build teams and businesses that run like well-oiled machines.

  • First, make sure you’re laser focused on your daily goals. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, one helpful strategy is to do a mind dump. Write down the thoughts that are cluttering your brain. You can keep a daily journal, a running task list, or even just a random page where you scribble notes, to help your brain move on and refocus.
  • Simplify, automate, and delegate. First, simplify your systems and procedures to help make them clearer and easy to implement. Automate what can be automated to clear those items off your plate. Last, delegate tasks, because…
  • You can’t do everything yourself! You need others–trained team members, hired staff, even other businesses–to carry out tasks, complete projects, and help elevate your business to a higher level of productivity.
  • Make clear systems, timelines, and budgets, so you can plan your day and manage time well. This also helps your team to know what’s expected of them when you’re managing projects and delegating tasks.
