We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Raquel Kelley to our Adapt & Thrive Mastermind this past week! Raquel is the CEO and Co-Founder of MOMGUL. She joined our weekly local business mastermind group to share her #MyAdaptStory.
Heading into 2020, MOMGUL was planned to be a networking & meetup group for moms. With the pandemic & lockdown, Raquel and her business partner, Kristen Schneider, pivoted to the needs of moms durings these times. They created a short 15-minute podcast, where moms could focus on themselves in the very little free time they had.
“It turns out this was the right move,” Raquel shared with us. “Instead of asking for people’s time, we made our business fit into their lives. Our goal is to be their go-to for efficient advice from trusted experts. We plan to build out our preferred partner program so women know where to turn to if they need guidance or services.”
MOMGUL is a digital community aimed at making MOMS into MOGULS. Through a weekly 15-minute podcast and courses, moms are given financial, physical, and emotional advice from leading experts.
“We aren’t about babies or parenting. We are all about mom, here. Our goal is simple: Help mothers put themselves first to be better for everyone else around them.”
Our Top Takeaways from the Adapt & Thrive Mastermind, February 25th:
- Even though you’re likely feeling gung-ho in the beginning stages of a new idea, you might discover you have to pivot around unforeseen obstacles. Many of us were forced to pivot hard at the beginning of this pandemic. Don’t be discouraged to scale back or shift your expectations. Bring your ideas to life in a new, unique way.
- Plan your workload according to a schedule you believe is achievable. Avoid burnout by keeping your first ambitions realistic. Then, if your schedule allows you to reach for loftier goals and to take on more responsibilities… go for it!
- While you’re planning new ventures or projects to try, think long-term. Make sure you’re able to devote the proper time and creative energy. You can make every idea as complex or as simple as you choose. Don’t forget, either: it’s okay to delegate or ask for help! Know what you need and learn how to express that to your team.
