Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 27, 2026 | Version 1.1
Our Commitment
Local Links exists because local relationships matter. We’re building this network on the belief that trust moves faster than advertising, and that model only works if every person in it trusts it completely.
We are not a marketing company. We are a referral network, and that distinction matters to us. Your information stays in the network, serves the network, and is never used against the interests of the people who made it possible.
So here is our commitment: we will never sell your information, never contact you without a reason, and never treat you as a marketing opportunity. If you hear from us, it is because we have something worth saying.
1. Who We Are
Local Links operates the referral and promotional network located at locallinks.online. We connect independent live event venues and performers in the South Bay Los Angeles area with local partners (businesses and individuals) and their customers.
This Privacy Policy applies to three groups of people whose information may pass through the Local Links network: Program Participants, Venue and Event Partners, and Referred Customers. Each group is described in detail below.
Questions about this Privacy Policy can be directed to us at yourlocallinks@gmail.com.
2. Program Participants
Individuals and businesses enrolled in the Local Links referral program
Program Participants are individuals, sole proprietors, and business entities who have completed the Local Links enrollment form and agreed to the Referral Incentive Program Terms and Conditions via digital signature. By enrolling, Participants provide informed consent to the data practices described in this section.
What We Collect
At enrollment and throughout participation we may collect:
- Name and business name
- Email address and phone number
- Referral activity and commission history
- Payment information such as a Venmo username
- Communications and support requests
How We Use It
- To administer the referral program and calculate earned commissions
- To send program communications including payment notifications and referral updates
- To send event announcements and area updates if the Participant has explicitly opted in
- To comply with applicable tax and legal obligations including issuance of Form 1099 where required
Businesses and Individuals
Where the Participant is a business entity, information collected may belong to a business representative rather than a private individual. Local Links retains business contact details for network and referral purposes for the duration of the program relationship and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping.
California residents participating as individuals or sole proprietors retain full CCPA rights as described in Section 6. CCPA rights do not extend to businesses operating in a purely commercial capacity.
Event Communications Opt-In
Participation in the referral program does not automatically enroll anyone in event communications. A separate opt-in is presented at enrollment and is unchecked by default. Participants who opt in may withdraw consent at any time by replying Unsubscribe to any communication or by contacting yourlocallinks@gmail.com.
3. Venue and Event Partners
Venues, performers, and organizations operating under a Local Links Service Provider Agreement
Venue and Event Partners are venues, performers, and organizations that have entered into a Local Links Service Provider Agreement via digital signature. That agreement governs the commercial relationship. This Policy governs how we handle the personal and business information that flows through the network as part of that relationship.
What We Collect
In the course of operating the partnership we may collect:
- Business name, venue name, and primary contact information
- Staff contact details where relevant to the referral and commission process
- Event data including dates, times, ticket URLs, and promotional assets
- Revenue and ticket data used to calculate commission obligations
How We Use It
- To publish and promote events through the Local Links network
- To track ticket sales and attribution for commission purposes
- To communicate about upcoming events, program updates, and payment activity
- To maintain accurate records for the duration of the agreement and any applicable tail period
Event Data and Publishing
Event information provided by Venue and Event Partners is entered into the Local Links event management system and may be published publicly on locallinks.online and distributed through partner communications. Partners are responsible for ensuring that event data submitted to Local Links is accurate and that they have the rights to share any assets provided.
4. Referred Customers
People who interact with a Local Links tracked link or event page
Referred Customers are individuals who click a Local Links tracked link, visit an event page on locallinks.online, or purchase a ticket that is attributed through the Local Links network. Referred Customers may not have a direct relationship with Local Links and may not be aware that attribution is taking place. This section explains transparently what we collect and why.
What We Collect
When a Referred Customer interacts with a Local Links tracked link or event page, the following may be collected:
- UTM attribution parameters embedded in the link at the time of click
- Attribution data stored in browser localStorage for up to 90 days
- Basic analytics data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited
We do not use browser cookies for tracking. Attribution is handled through URL parameters and localStorage only.
Email Anonymization
When verifying ticket purchase attribution with venue partners, email addresses are anonymized before comparison. A referred customer’s full email address is never shared with venue partners or any third party for this purpose. The comparison is used solely to confirm whether a ticket purchase qualifies as a Qualified Referral under the program.
How We Use It
- To attribute ticket purchases to the correct Program Participant for commission purposes
- To measure the reach and effectiveness of the Local Links network
- We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond referral attribution
Retention
Attribution data in localStorage expires automatically after 90 days. We do not maintain a persistent database of referred customer identities beyond what is necessary to verify a Qualified Referral.
Your Rights as a Referred Customer
If you are a California resident and believe your information has been collected through the Local Links network, you have the right to request access to or deletion of that information. Contact us at yourlocallinks@gmail.com and we will respond within 45 days.
5. Sharing Information
Local Links does not sell, rent, or trade personal information belonging to any group described in this Policy. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: We use Google Workspace for email and data management, Short.io for link tracking, and WordPress hosting and plugin providers for site operation. These parties process data only as needed to provide their services.
Venue partners for attribution: Email addresses used for ticket purchase verification are anonymized before being shared with venue partners. No personally identifiable information is disclosed in this process.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business transfers: If Local Links is sold or transferred, participant and partner information may be part of that transaction. We will notify affected parties in advance of any such change.
6. Your California Privacy Rights
California residents who are individuals or sole proprietors have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (Local Links does not sell personal information)
- The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at yourlocallinks@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet-based system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data transmitted through or stored by the Local Links network.
8. Third-Party Links
Our site and communications may contain links to third-party websites including event venue pages, ticketing platforms, and partner business sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies directly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and date at the top of the page. Material changes will be communicated to active Participants and Partners via email. Continued participation in the program after notice of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
