Effective prospecting on LinkedIn is much easier than you might think. At our recent weekly masterminds, Matt Quirk of GetQuirked! has been showing how to use the basic tools that LinkedIn provides (for free) to find your best buyers and learn what they actually care about, so you can personalize your connection requests and follow-ups.

He’s also been detailing how to use your LinkedIn profile to get found by your best customers and great joint venture partners, while getting ignored by everyone else. Let’s dive in, friends!

Mastermind Takeaways:

  • When prospecting on LinkedIn:
    • Use the Search to your advantage.
    • If new possible connections aren’t active on LinkedIn, don’t waste your time using LinkedIn to connect with them. You can always search for them and reach out on other platforms you frequent.
    • Use someone’s recent LinkedIn activity in your personal note when making a connection! Show them you’re paying attention.
  • On your profile page:
    • Change your visibility settings to display your name and headline. That way, potential connections can tell you’re a real person.
    • Crop your photo to Goldielocks perfection (not too far, not too close, but just right!) by focusing the circle around your head & shoulders.
    • Choose a contrasting background color to stand out!
  • Use your headline to describe exactly what you do. Specify who you help and how you help them.
  • If you’ve decided to utilize LinkedIn as a professional network, then be active on the platform. Share articles relevant to your field. Post updates about your company. Reach out to business associates or loyal customers you’ve connected with. Interact with your connections when they post.
  • Set aside time to evaluate what is working for you and what isn’t. Invest more of your time, energy, and money into the things that are working. Then, learn from what didn’t. Always be willing to try out new ideas.

Other Great Takeaways from our Adapt & Thrive Mastermind members:

  • Use platforms like Fivver to elevate your outside opportunities. Small projects lead to bigger opportunities if you elevate your happy client’s referrals.
  • Put a usable Call To Action on your livestreams, posts, and other social media. Make the best next step obvious!
  • Passion drives business opportunities.
